The editorial staff of Saw Palm seeks Florida work--which may include work from anywhere that concerns itself with Florida (images, people, themes) or work from Florida not obviously about someplace else. To get an idea of what we are looking for, we invite you to read past issues in our library.

Poetry: Please send no more than five poems per reading period.
Fiction: We prefer work under 6000 words. Query first for longer works. Send only one story per reading period unless you have several related short-shorts.
Creative Nonfiction: We prefer work under 6000 words. Query first for longer works.
Art/Photography: Please send file attachments (.jpg) or links to a portfolio on your website.
Interviews: We are especially interested in interviews of Florida writers and artists, athough we're open to almost any Florida-related subject. Please query first.
Reviews: We are open to all kinds of reviews. We prefer work under 6000 words. Please query first.
Places to Stand in Florida (web edition only): Please tell us what it's like to stand at a particular place in Florida at a particular time of day. While we prefer the unusual, locations should be public and accessible. Prose should be approximately 500 words. Please include GPS coordinates, if possible.
Insane Anecdotes from Florida History (web edition only): Please disturb our readers with Florida historical anecdotes that are creepy, violent, unjust, corrupt, tragic, or ironic, preferably in a uniquely Florida way. Prose should be approximately 500 words and written for a general, non-academic audience.
